Success Stories
''I am so proud for being a Minova Fellow, through this organization I have learnt a lot, I was able to influence differently people who have give up in there life who want to step back from there families, and schools. But also it has helped me personally to interact with different people from different places around our country. It has helped me fulfill my life with experience about mental health and gender based violence and how to cope with the situations.''
Lucy Ching'oro
''My participation in the first cohort of training against the harm and challenges of mental health for youth has primarily helped me understand the numerous challenges that had led many of fellow Tanzanian youths to face mental health issues.
The various issues they encounter in their communities and daily lives have been clear indicators contributing to their mental health challenges. These include drug use, the hardships of life and the fact that some have completed education but have not found employment. This has helped me understand how we can support each other in dealing with these challenges. We provided methods and advice on how to manage this challenge or issue of mental health among the youth.''

''First and foremost, being a Minova fellow has not only been an opportunity to acquire mental health awareness and knowledge but it has also moulded my mental health in general, just like participating in a mental health counselling session.
Furthermore, participating in Minova community workshop cohort 1 of 2023 that spearheads mental health awareness and psychosocial support made me discover that majority of the communities we live in are vulnerable to mental health issues.
This necessitates mental health awareness and psychosocial support in our communities.''

The fellowship's emphasis on holistic well-being has translated into improved personal resilience, positively influencing both my coming professional and personal life. The camaraderie within the cohort has been a source of strength, creating lasting connections.
