MiNova Mental Health

Mental health is our priority

Welcome to

About us

MiNova is a dual-arm mental health organization in Tanzania committed to advancing accessible mental health care and advocacy. We are structured into two pillars: MiNova Mental Health Clinic and MiNova Mental Health Foundation.

Why MiNova Was Founded

MiNova was born out of the urgent need to close the mental health gap in Tanzania and Africa at large. With rising youth distress, stigma, and inadequate services, we established MiNova to provide both direct clinical support and sustainable advocacy through training and awareness.

MiNova was born from lived pain, resilience and a passion to create a safe space for healing.

MiNova was born from lived pain, resilience and a passion to create what I never had, a safe space for healing.Meet Amina, a 17 year old girl from rural Kilimanjaro. She was sexually abused by someone she trusted. She became pregnant, dropped out of school and battled both pre and postpartum depression. Her community had no answer only silence, stigma and spiritual referrals that didn’t address her mental pain. In late 2022, she met Dr. Glory during a mental health session for elders in Machame-Masama. That one encounter began her healing journey. Amina’s story was the spark that birthed MiNova mental health clinic and foundation.
